Earlier this April, a Georgia jury awarded the Walden family a $150,000,000.00 settlement for the wrongful death of 4 year old Remington Walden. The child was killed in 2012 when the Jeep Grand Cherokee he was in burst into flames due in part to the positioning of the vehicle’sfuel tank, which made it vulnerable to being punctured from impact. The car at issue here’s fuel tank ruptured and leaked, leading to the fatal fire, after the vehicle was rear ended by a pickup truck. The court recently denied Fiat Chrysler’s motion for a new trial. However the judge reduced the award by $40,000,000.00.
